I love this, the ending had me cackling so hard
Pain, agony even. Yet I still watched until the end
I love the game, but I got so frustrated at the turrets that for the first time in years I got angry at a video game.
Right off the bat I noticed how janky the controls were, especially with leaping forward and jumping. The platforming I had to do I feel took longer than it should have due to this. The game otherwise was really satisfying, the controls is just what bothered me a bit. Keep up the good work!
Thanks!
That has been the thing people bring up the most as a flaw, definitely because of the delay between pressing jump and actually jumping, as well as the delay between landing and moving again. I put those things in intentionally, but clearly it’s not very fun and just ends up being frustrating.
The engine I used to make this (GameSalad), is weird, annoying, overly expensive, and no one even knows it exists, so there’s basically no documentation or support you can get on it.
Because of this, it’s unlikely I’ll be updating this game again. If it ever returns, it’ll be a recreation or maybe even sequel in a better engine, say Pygame or Unity.
Again, thanks for rating, even if I won’t be able to update this game any time soon, it’s still useful feedback that can improve any future projects I make.
EDIT - A bit late, but for anyone reading this now, I ended up making an update anyway. It made the jumping way more responsive and fast, plus a few other interesting things. Area 5 may have something special if you're lucky :)
I love the concept of the game and the little details put into it. It did take a little bit of time to get used to the controls, but after some time I got into the rhythm of it. Aside from that, I find the animations surprisingly interesting as well with the old internet aesthetic. Overall, it's pretty good aside from some minor nitpicks and whatnot.
What a good lad, even if I've seen him for a few seconds he deserves the world
I wasn't mentally prepared for this nor will I ever be
I do art, draw scary women, do things and exist. Hoping to upgrade and do productive things.
